Undeadly.org anounced that the (for BSD fans) well known developer Damien Bergamini, who wrote a lot of wireless device drivers for various BSDs, took a break from his reverse engineering efforts and commited some code magic to finally support WPA PSK & WPA2 PSK in OpenBSD. As always, this commit is done on "current", so it will not be available for the next release 4.3, which is basically only a few days away. However, if there are no major issues with this implementation, which from my previous experiences with software, done by Damien, is not very likely, this will be part of the next release 4.4, which will then be published in 6 months.
All enthusiasts, who are not willing to wait until the next release and are capable of running "current" are encouraged to give this a try. Thank you Damien, for realizing this very often requested feature for the OpenBSD community.

I am usually not that hostile against electronic music, but this one hits a nerve somehow.

After having seen him last year. I was eager to meet DJ Krush again, more than happily followed an invitation of a friend of mine, who told me, that this Japanese mastermind was back in town.
He played in the quite popular club "Maria am Ufer" near Ostbahnhof, which was more than crowded this time. While last year, there were quite a few people arriving at the clubs front desk, asking who was playing and disappearing afterwards, because it did not seem too interesting to them, this year, the club was really full.
Krush again gave a solid performance, that did not disappoint me, despite my high expectations, resulting from the last years experience.
I will try to put up some videos, I shot with my little Lumix. They are off course not professional, but they might deliver a few impressions.

Karl Klammer is the German name for that dumb office assistant resembling a paper clip and trying to guess what you are currently doing. It usually starts annoying users soon and gets switched off faster than the Lollipop colors of the MS OS default installation.
Now imagine, Microsoft had developed the worlds most famous editor. Can't imagine that ? Here is what it would look like.
For people, who are still willing to risk getting addicted to vi. Here, is where I found that juwel. But be warned the learning curve is steep !

I was packing Christmas gifts all night and at one point I wondered about my thumb being wound. Well, yeah, that's not really kungfu style, but you can't be the strong man all the time.
I nearly forgot about this, when I suddenly felt the pain again and my thumb suddenly started bleeding. The cheap dispenser, I was using to supply adhesive tape for the packing orgy, did only cut the tape, when I was pressing my thumb on top of the cutter. Once tought about the curse of new technology, I quickly remembered my scissor skills and was astonished to actually find a scissor in our appartment. From then on, packing the gifts was only a matter of using the right Christmas hacking skills.
There is just one thing to add: Who the hell designed round pans ??? They are the most difficult things in life to wrap into paper (aside from living creatures, which shouldn't be wrapped into anything, really...). I am tempted to design square pans with removable handles for exactly this purpose.
Painless Christmas Holidays to everybody.

I am feeling exhausted today ...
Why ? Because the guys living one level below us, decided to retest their stereo @2.00 am. Great Stuff !
I am starting to think, they are kind of vampires, since they always come to life after 10pm. Maybe I should try garlic ?

I have been playing around with the drupal cms for quite some time now and while it is not superior to Serendipity in regards to weblog functionality, it is at least equal, plus it offers the possibility of creating a multisite installation. As I intend to maintain more than just my own website on the same server, I am seriously tempted, to use this fine piece of software for the job.
At the moment I am still in testing mood, but I think that by end of December or begin of January www.kungfu-hackers.net will undergo a major change. The trickiest bit is to fully translate Drupal into German (including the modules I intend to use) and to create a proper theme for the website, I want to start this all with.
Stay tuned, and if you like what you read here, don't forget to update your RSS feeds.
Sincerely, your Kungfu Hacker

I have just survived an emergency session, being treated by an experienced dentist and two wonderful ladies. So far no pain anymore, but the anesthesia is still working and my face still half paralyzed, that's why I was thinking of TwoFace.
These drugs are fairly powerful these days. Last time, when I had a similar injection, it took half an hour to show any results, but this was more than seven years ago, while todays treatment was more like suddenly lying under a big pillow.
Thank you science, for supplying us with efficient pain killers.

I have been reading XKCD for quite some time now. This strip I find particularly funny.
It probably tells me, not to underestimate my mom. Not that I ever would :)
Read part two, three, four and the final of this episode.
